September 2 was a special day, like every first Sunday of the month, in France, some of the museums will have open doors to everyone to come and see.
I love this initiative, our choice for this month was Musée Rodin, I love this museum, so rich with the movements and details we see in each and every sculptures.
During the periode spanning 2012-1214,the Musee Rodin has lunched an extensive programme of renovation in the hotel Biron, home to the permanent collections since the mueum first opened to the public in 1919.

During the work of renovation that will be going on at the Hotel Biron, there is an exceptional exhibition  "Rodin, The Flesh, The Marble ".It started from June 8, 2012 and will last until March 3, 2013 .
It is a must see exhibition, there is over sixty marble statues and preparatory studies, many of them are from private collections,

The studies of the models started with plaster, it was nice to see the process of the work from A to Z,placing the marks of reference on the plaster model( nails, small holes, crosses, penciled signs).

I can't get enough from Rodin's work, and his passion that is showing very clearly in his work, The hands of God marble was just so amazing, I just stood there for a while breathless, unfortunately in this section of the museum taking photos was not allowed, but you can see some of the works in the trailer above.

Never worked with marble but for me it stays a mysterious and meticulous work to be done,I admire Rodin's work it is just a vitamin for my  eyes .

Histoires de voir " Show and tell"

 

The Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art, presents the exhibition Show and tell " Histoires de voir " from May 15 and will be on until 21 October 2012 .
It is a must see exhibition, so much to discover and to learn about tribal and contemporary art.
The exhibition features the work and the stories, of more than 50 artists from around the world, they are Brazilians,Indians,Congolese, Haitian, Mexican, Danish, Japanese and American.
It is interesting to see how those artists developed their talents in uncommon circumstances, they are self thought or the art was passed to them from generation to another.Even though they are considered a naif arts, primitive art, you can feel that there is deep meaning into their work, and lots of spirituality, most of these artists don't live from their artwork, they have another job to help them survive.
Intriguing life stories, how they learned and developed their talent, their believes and spirituality, their resilience,their patience, and passion for their art . there is a lot we can learn from these artists .


Unfortunately we were not allowed to take photos, but you can find lots of documentary on the Cartier foundation site, and of course why not go and visit the exhibition .

Every work of art was very impressive, it is an expression of the artists life, surrounding, and their struggle through their arts 
All the artists were just extraordinary, I will talk to you about some of them and let you discover the rest .

Antonio de Dede : from Brazil, his father was a carpenter and he learned how to make his own toys with wood at a very young age.

Hans Sherfig from Danemark, he paints mostly nature on big format, loved his colors

the works of the Artist jangarh singh Shyam : was discovered by the late, painter J.Swaminathand, painting the huts of Patangarh village in 1981.
Jangarh singh Shyam, had a particular artist life, married at the age of 13 for love, succeed in art world, he participated in art festivals and shows around the world , and sadly suicides at the age of 37 .

Allesandro Mendini, great Italian artist, he likes mixing different cultures and different forms of expression,He has been awarded several international prizes, including the Compasso d'oro in 1979 and in 1982. He holds an honorary title from the Architectural League of New York as well as the title of "Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres" from the French Republic.
 For this exhibition he created a mini cathedral, but when you u look inside of it you will some kind of idol, very interesting project.

On the underground level of this exhibition you will find
The warli paintings, a traditional, mural painting that is done by white pigment it is a mixture of rice past and water with gum as a binding, it seems it was a ritual paintings that, and only married women used to do it with very basic graphics, circles, triangles, squares etc. things they see in the nature .

Mamadou Cisse : he is a night guard and in order to chase away his boredom he sketches , his work is just so impressive and very colorful.

Gregorio Barrio, from Mexico, his work is just so outstanding, he uses thousands of little colored beads to create different animals head motives, just so amazing, i could stand hours gazing at his work and it wouldn't be enough..you can see his work by clicking on his name link.

In Love with Paris through the eyes of Monet

Close your eyes for a while and imagine that you cannot open them anymore.

How does it feel?

When I was 8 years old my Uncle experimented this with me, by closing my eyes and asking me the same question.

 This is when I learned how precious my eyes are, and how much I am blessed to be able to see.

Now in this busy life have we ever took a moment to count our blessings and see how lucky we are instead of complaining about everything …..

Well hold on a minute, look around you and observe 

You are so lucky

It is all about the way we SEE

2 days ago I saw the work of Claude Monet in real for the first time.

 I saw the beauty of the nature through his eyes, it was amazing.

 I kept thanking God to bless me with my sight so that I can see that beautiful work of art.

  Seeing it live is totally different feeling then seeing it in books.

From time to time I looked around to see that I was not the only one amazed by his work but a lot s people who came from around the world and waited in lines for hours to be able to go inside to museum just to see.

My first visited was in the Museum of Le Grand Palais in Paris, where they have gathered over 200 of his work from French and foreign museums.

I can tell you I was speechless and very happy

Claude Monet ,also known as Claude Oscar Monet ,was the original founder and practitioner of the French Impressionist movement in painting. Some of his best known works includes Impression ,Sunrise, Water Lilies , and Haystacks 

People couldn’t understand his art at that time , and he was rejected many times by the committee of the exhibitions gallery, his art was different 

and everything different is intimidating

It is funny because if we look at the price of his paintings now we will be amazed ,just last February 2009 his painting “Dans La Prairie “ was sold in London during the Christie’s Auction for  12 .4 million Euro ,the irony of life.

Monet loved nature and studied the light you can see his painted the same landscape in different times of the day amazing work of art 

Monet gave me a light in my soul, and a great happiness

It is great to feel and see the Art through the eyes of other 

when i went to the museum of the Orangerie ,there it was a different world ,i just sat and gazed into the amazing Nympheas painting
