" On Shark and Humanity " is a must see contemporary art exhibition happening now at the Hong Kong maritime museum until the 30 of September 2017.
This is the 5th edition of the exhibition which started in Monaco, Moscow, Beijing and Singapore, where 36 contemporary artists joined forced together in the aim of raising the public awareness about the pivotal sharks number plays in maintaining the balance of the maritime ecosystem, and the urgent need for shark conservation.

I must say the exhibition sends a very powerful message, about the negative impact of the shark fin trade and how is it affecting and endangering the life of sharks and the whole ecosystem
I was very touched by the art work, and the way the installation was made inside the maritime museum along with the permanent exhibition of the museum which takes you right to heart of the sea life, not the mission the view that comes along.
Shark finning kills the shark, because the removal of the fins from the sharks, happens when the shark is still alive, they are then discarded back to the ocean, unable to swim without their fins they sink in the bottom of the ocean and die of suffocation or eaten by other predators.
Shark finning increased since 1997 largely due to the increasing demand for shark fins for shark fin soup and traditional cures.
